Get your hearts in sync with some upbeat jazz at this weekly swing dancing event. Every Wednesday at 8:15, beginners are invited to an introductory lesson with the Swing Connexion dance school. At 9:30 things really get hopping, and you’ll dance the night away to the band’s sweet sounds. Every Wednesday until June 26.

Tangente, Édifice Wilder – Espace danse
Geneviève Jean-Bindley’s new dance piece will fill your evening with brilliant colours. By deconstructing contemporary dance and bringing numerous influences into play – from musicals to synchronized swilling to absurdist writing – the choreographer has created a joyful, freewheeling show that questions our consumerist ways.

Want to surprise your dearest? You can’t go wrong by picking up a pair of tickets to the ultimate romantic ballet, Swan Lake. This production of the famous ballet and its Tchaikovsky score was first staged in 2007 by Krzysztof Pastor, and it is performed brilliantly by the Polish National Ballet, hosted by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. An unforgettable evening, guaranteed!

How about a cozy evening of jazz, complete with a delicious meal inspired by the world’s finest flavours? Le Balcon is just the place! Accomplished singer and sax player Orville Thompson, a.k.a. Dr. Sax, and his band will play big hits by Barry White, Al Jarreau, George Michael and more, providing the soundtrack to a wonderful romantic evening.
Sonia Johnson and the National Jazz Orchestra invite you for a stirring evening, in which the eclectic singer will pay tribute to three pioneers – Billie Holiday, Carmen McRae and Peggy Lee – before singing her own songs. She’ll be accompanied by some talented guests: Marianne Trudel, Jean-Nicolas Trottier and Steven Taetz, who will join her for the irresistible duet, “Meet in Montreal.”
