Amazing energy

Swing Wednesdays

February 13 and 20
Katacombes

Get your hearts in sync with some upbeat jazz at this weekly swing dancing event. Every Wednesday at 8:15, beginners are invited to an introductory lesson with the Swing Connexion dance school. At 9:30 things really get hopping, and you’ll dance the night away to the band’s sweet sounds. Every Wednesday until June 26.

Ne me dis pas que tu m’aimes - Geneviève Jean-Bindley

February 14 to 17
Tangente, Édifice Wilder – Espace danse

Geneviève Jean-Bindley’s new dance piece will fill your evening with brilliant colours. By deconstructing contemporary dance and bringing numerous influences into play – from musicals to synchronized swilling to absurdist writing – the choreographer has created a joyful, freewheeling show that questions our consumerist ways.

Romantic classic

Swan Lake

February 21 to March 2
Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier
Place des Arts

Want to surprise your dearest? You can’t go wrong by picking up a pair of tickets to the ultimate romantic ballet, Swan Lake. This production of the famous ballet and its Tchaikovsky score was first staged in 2007 by Krzysztof Pastor, and it is performed brilliantly by the Polish National Ballet, hosted by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. An unforgettable evening, guaranteed!

The sweetest love notes

Dr. Sax, and his band will play big hits by Barry White, Al Jarreau, George Michael and more, providing the soundtrack to a wonderful romantic evening.

The National Jazz Orchestra presents Sonia Johnson

February 16
L’Astral

Sonia Johnson and the National Jazz Orchestra invite you for a stirring evening, in which the eclectic singer will pay tribute to three pioneers – Billie Holiday, Carmen McRae and Peggy Lee – before singing her own songs. She’ll be accompanied by some talented guests: Marianne Trudel, Jean-Nicolas Trottier and Steven Taetz, who will join her for the irresistible duet, “Meet in Montreal.”
