The famous “red dots” seen on downtown Montreal sidewalks have been recognized again, at the International Illumination Design Awards 2007 in Saint Louis, Missouri on Friday, November 2.

The luminous signature received the Energy and Environmental Design Award of Excellence - OSRAM SYLVANIA prize, which will be the first time that a Quebec project receives the honour.

Accompanied by Partnership General Manager Pierre Deschênes and Project Manager Amahl Hazelton, the award was accepted by Axel Morgenthaler, lighting designer and creator of the luminary. The prize is given to recognize “quality lighting installations that incorporate advanced energy-saving strategies and environmentally responsible solutions into the overall design and for an exceptional contribution to the art and science of lighting design”.

With this award, the Partnership celebrates its third distinction, after receiving earlier honors from Prix Créativité Montréal and IES Montréal (the local branch of IESNA). This is in addition to the recognition given to the Quartier des spectacles Lighting Plan in the international press over the past months
