THE LIGHTING PLAN PILOT PROJECT WINS AT THE CONCOURS
CRÉATIVITÉ MONTRÉAL
Yesterday evening, the jury for the first concours Créativité Montréal awarded their 2006 prizes, during a magnificent gala at the Centre CDP Capital.
The Lighting Plan Pilot Project won the Grand Prize in the "Commercial Artery" category, recognizing the impact of a project that aims to simulate commercial activity while beautifying the street.
Pierre Deschênes, General Manager of the Partnership, and Amahl Hazelton, Project Manager for the Lighting Plan, were there to receive the prize from Sylvie Laniel, of the Ministère des Affaires municipales et des Régions.
The pilot project, launched at the end of July, is intended to highlight the presence of performance halls and other cultural venues in the area. Five performance spaces (Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, Métropolis, Club Soda, the Monument-National and the Société des arts technologiques [SAT]) near the intersection of Saint-Laurent and Sainte-Catherine are permanently illuminated as a result of the project.
Each venue also received a luminous common signature, conceived by Photonic Dreams with the artistic direction of Intégral Ruedi Baur and Intégral Jean Beaudoin and built by LEIG Lighting.
Each venue has actively worked with designers to develop an original concept to permanently enhance each building, using new technologies in the hopes of saving energy and achieving sustainable development.
The Partnership congratulates all those who participated in this first phase of the deployment of the visual identity of the Quartier des spectacles. Their enthusiasm and creativity are responsible for the success of the project.
