The year’s scariest holiday, Halloween, is already gently rapping, rapping at our door. Come on down to the Quartier des Spectacles, where you’ll find a ton of exciting ways to join the fun. Here are just 6 ways to spend a happy – and spine-tingling – Halloween!

GRANDE SOIRÉE HORREUR SPASM ET OLD SCHOOL HALLOWEEN PARTY

For its 18th edition, horror fans’ favourite festival is back for another round of thrills and chills! On October 25, enjoy a terrifying selection of the very best short horror movies from around the world, with the Grande soirée horreur. The next night, everyone is invited to disguise themselves and dance the night away to the best tunes of the 80s and 90s at the festival’s legendary Old School Halloween Party.

LA GRANDE-PLACE DES FANTÔMES

Before going out to haunt the city, ghosts will fill the Grande Place at Complexe Desjardins. This is a family-friendly event where you can get into the Halloween spirit with shows, free makeup, workshops for kids and a costume contest.

BACH AVANT DODO - HALLOWEEN KIDS’ SHOW !

This artistic activity is fun for the whole family, and it’s free for kids under 7. In Bach avant dodo, each musical piece is accompanied by an animated story. Children can also interact with the professional musicians, play along, conduct them and even try out their instruments!

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW

October 31 and November 1-2, 7:30 and 11 p.m.
Cinéma Impérial

A screening of the ultimate cult movie in one of Montreal’s most beautiful theatres is bound to be spectacular in more ways than one. In addition to enjoying the on-screen performances of Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Meatloaf, et al., the audience will also appreciate the many actors in the theatre. And of course there will be audience participation, which seems to get wilder every year!

HALLOWEEN PARTY IN THE SATOSPHÈRE

Was Halloween over too soon for you? Here’s just the event you’re looking for, and it’s also a feast for your eyes and ears. Three DJs – New York’s Veronica Vasicka, Toronto’s Kehdo and Montreal’s Matthew Salaciak – will provide the tunes, while the 360° visuals will come from local artists Jason Voltaire and Félix Félix Gourd Gourd.

Ghosts of the Red Light District

If you don’t believe in ghosts, you’ve probably never taken a walking tour of the old Red Light District with a professional storyteller who knows all its secrets.
