For the past forty years, Jacques Primeau has boldly forged his own path behind the scenes at the greatest theaters in the world. Manager of the Rock et Belles Oreilles group, he continues to ply his trade with genuine passion. With an uncanny ability to rally people together, Jacques Primeau is a tireless advocate of associative, volunteer and civic involvement. He mobilized stakeholders in the cultural milieu to create the Quartier des Spectacles. His constant efforts to bring together key stakeholders helped bring about the resolutely urban, lively and welcoming spaces we know today.

Jacques Primeau’s career has been marked by an unwavering commitment to cultural associations. As President of ADISQ, he brought the cultural community together to shape a common vision. At the helm of Montréal en lumière, he fulfilled his vision of urban, cultural and winter tourism by creating the skating loop on the Place des Festivals, and by taking part in the creation of the magnificent skating rink on the Esplanade Tranquille.

At once a rallying force, an innovator and a builder, Jacques Primeau is unquestionably a pillar of Québec culture and of the Quartier des spectacles. He was Chairman of the Board of the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership from 2012 to 2019, and has been a director since its inception. In 2021, he was named Compagnon des arts et des lettres du Québec.
