Is the Esplanade Tranquille skating rink open?

The rink is now closed for the season. It will reopen next winter as soon as the weather permits.

What are the opening hours of Esplanade Tranquille?

While the Esplanade Tranquille skating rink is being transformed into a public plaza, the pavilion remains open to visitors. Here is the schedule for the Grand Salon:

  • Sunday to Thursday: 9am to 10pm
  • Friday and Saturday: 9am to 11pm

What is there to do at Esplanade Tranquille?

While the skating rink is being dismantled, the pavilion remains open to the public! Come and visit the Grand Salon:

Upstairs, the Grand Salon is an inviting and comfortable public lounge, designed as a place for socializing and relaxing. With its central fireplace and its cozy and warm atmosphere, it is a place to meet, to exchange and to share ideas. In winter and summer alike, the space hosts a variety of cultural activities. An exhibition, Henri Tranquille et sa librairie Tranquille, tells the story of the Librairie Tranquille bookstore and its owner through a series of displays featuring reproductions of archival materials, photos and unpublished writings.

Beginning in May, the outdoor public plaza will feature a variety of furniture, amenities and cultural activities. Stay tuned!


What sanitary rules must be followed?

The Quartier des Spectacles Partnership invites the public to respect the sanitary instructions given on the site.

  • At all times, masking is required inside the pavilion.

At all times, please follow the measures in effect and act responsibly.


Do I need to book in advance or buy a ticket to access the Esplanade Tranquille?

Unless there are specific events, there is no need to reserve in advance or purchase tickets to access the Esplanade Tranquille. This is a public space and access is free.

Will the site be closed if it rains?

No, the site is not closed if it rains. However, some activities may be cancelled in case of rain. Keep an eye on our social media if in doubt!

Is the site accessible to people with reduced mobility?

Yes, the outdoor site and the pavilion are accessible to those with reduced mobility.

Are there toilets available?

Yes, unisex bathrooms can be found inside the pavilion.

Is there a dedicated space for nursing or changing my baby?

Yes, there is a private nursing room with changing tables upstairs inside the pavilion.

Can I bring my own food and drink to Esplanade Tranquille?

Yes, you can bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages to Esplanade Tranquille. However, please note that it is strictly forbidden to bring or consume alcohol on site.

Are there restaurants nearby?

A variety of restaurants and cafés are available in the Quartier des spectacles. To discover them and plan your visit to the Esplanade Tranquille, consult the Quartier's restaurant map.

Starting in May, a food service will also be offered at the Esplanade Tranquille.

Personal belongings:

I lost something during my last visit. Where can I pick it up?

If you have lost a personal item at Esplanade Tranquille, please send an email to with a detailed description of the item. We will check whether it has been found. If you are at the site, please go directly to the reception desk


Can I bring my pet?

Pets are allowed on the outdoor site of the Esplanade*.

*Subject to change for specific events.

Can i use alcohol or cannabis on site?

It is strictly forbidden to bring or consume alcohol or drugs on the site of the Esplanade Tranquille.


How do i get to the Quartier des Spectacles?


The green and orange lines stop at the Quartier des spectacles. There are three metro stations:
Berri-UQAM Metro (orange and green lines)
Saint-Laurent Metro (green line)
Place-des-Arts Metro (green line)


The Quartier can also be reached by 10 bus lines.

Where can i park?

You can park your car in the streets surrounding the Quartier des Spectacles, according to the regulations in effect, or in the indoor and outdoor paid parking lots.
