OLGA CHAGAOUTDINOVA | CASAS PARTICULARES

Information on the activity

May 24, 2014 to June 28, 2014

Born in Russia and now living and working in Montreal, Olga Chagaoutdinova creates photo and video-based art that examines domesticity, globalization, and, most recently, suffering in contemporary society. Her work reflects her “fascination with cultural codes whose exchanges construct personal identity, values, and collective and individual memories.”

Chagaoutdinova has received numerous awards for her work, most notably the Magenta Foundation's Flash Forward International Competition (2007), the Foundation de Sève Award (2005), the Power Corporation of Canada Graduate Fellowship, and the Roloff Benny Fellowship in Photography (2006). In 2008/2009, Canadian Art magazine named her one of the Top 10 MFA graduates in the country.
