FIELD OF GROOVES (CAMPO DE SURCOS)

Field of Grooves is an interactive installation comprised of a wooden structure outfitted with turntables and electronic devices. When the spectator/participant bites down on a small piece of acrylic, s/he will feel the vibrations of the turntable directly in her/his mouth! The piece is an investigation of technological development and invention. It follows with the historical tradition of sound experimentation, wherein sound is understood as a vibratory phenomenon transmitted in the form of elastic waves that flow across matter. Field of Grooves / Campo De Surcos provides an intimate experience of discovery and analysis of our experience and perception of physical phenomena in nature.
