Mirror tricks, rich vibrations, tone-color melodies and brilliant orchestrations: the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, led by Lorraine Vaillancourt, will dazzle for its first offering of the 2015-2016 season. To launch the Homage Series dedicated to John Rea, initiated by the SMCQ, the NEM will perform, Accident (Tombeau de Grisey) as well as his reorchestration for 28 musicians of Alban Berg’s Three Pieces for Orchestra, Op.6. The composer Pierre Boulez, who this year celebrated his 90th birthday, will also be honoured with the performance of his work Éclat/Multiples.
