"Fille de trans" is a compelling autobiographical play written and performed by Marie-Claude D'Aoust. In addition to being a mother, sister and friend, she is also a "trans daughter", since her dad, Sophia, is a trans woman. The powerful play, presented by Productions Martin Leclerc and told through the eyes of the young adult that she was during her father's transition, offers a unique perspective on this life journey.
Marie-Claude D'Aoust will be joined on stage by Éric Cabana, who plays Normand/Sophia, and Audrey Guériguian, who plays some twenty characters encountered over the course of the journey. The play is directed by Yann Tanguay, whose credits include Comme des têtes pas de poule (Télé-Québec), Les Mutants (Télé-Québec) and Marika (Radio-Canada).
The impact of the play, both touching and enlightening, transcends simple testimony; the biographical account is transformed into a theatrical work of undeniable force, conveying a profound social and human message and provoking reflection on a heated topical subject, experienced from the inside.
