A real-time audiovisual immersive performance on self-conception as embellishment, deployed in architectural spaces. The form of our ego is nothing but a construct to clothe and protect us, without structure, naked, tortured in the raw state: a shell. A personal space, a soft packaging strangely formed during our life, our shell is architecture and intimacy. For the performance, these elegant and articulated spaces, inspired by shells and exoskeletons, grow, take shape, dance and ultimately disaggregate. Most of the visuals will be produced in real time, performed in response to the audio. Carapace is an existential allegory that imagines a biotechnological future for materials and their evolution in a self-generated and mood-responsive form.
