JUNKO has always been fascinated by creatures, both natural and fantastical. Since his childhood, this fascination has been a growing theme in his art. He considers the space where he displays his sculptures as a form of “habitat” for the artwork, a unique space where the artwork can exist in harmony with the environment. By creating sculptures with waste materials that inhabit the environment in which they live, the sculptures become a reflection of that environment.
