DANIEL LANOIS

A master in pushing musical boundaries for almost four decades now, Daniel Lanois is a fearlessly forward-looking sonic expeditionary, still flouting convention and celebrating inspiration. A longtime Brian Eno collaborator, Lanois worked ceaselessly in his musical laboratory to develop Flesh and Machine, a new album that channels a cybernetic, futuristic universe. He unveils it here, accompanied by Brian Blade (drums) and Jim Wilson (bass), with a backdrop of visuals conceived in partnership with Robert Milazzo of the Modern School of Film. First up, we welcome a true artistic adventurer: sculptor, musician and divinely inspired creative force, “The Sand Man,” Lonnie Holley opens the evening.
