In post-Soviet Russia, a hallucinatory flu strikes the Petrov family. Feverish and delirious, the father, a mechanic and comic book artist, staggers around after his friend Igor through the freezing, snow-covered streets. As though on an extended zapoy, a particularly intense Russian version of a bender, Petrov switches between reality and nightmare, the present and his memories as he meets people along the way. With its references to Russian folklore and literature and its drama/sci-fi/horror genre-bending, PETROV'S FLU is an apocalyptic journey, unhinged, nightmarish and shattering, through a demonic contemporary Russia.
