RAFAEL PAYARE DIRIGE UNE VIE DE HÉROS

Richard Strauss brought the Romantic lieder tradition to a close with his Four Last Songs, a metaphor of human existence reflected in the cycle of seasons, delivered here by the extraordinary voice of Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva. This concert will also present an opportunity to savour the majestic tone poem A Hero’s Life, in which the composer’s own life can be perceived.
