A native of Trinidad and Tobago, soprano Jeanine De Bique leads an international operatic career and has garnered numerous distinctions. She makes her OSM debut in Samuel Barber’s operatic rhapsody Knoxville: Summer of 1915, which recounts a family’s evening together in a small Tennessee town. Also on the program are works by Canadian composer Jean Coulthard and Venezuelan composer Inocente Carreño. The works featured are connected through the concept of land, as a place of birth and of dwelling, and an influence on the artist’s path.
