Renée Condo's work explores a Mi'gmaq worldview with a particular focus on connectivity and interdependence. This is the second solo exhibition by the artist at Laroche/Joncas and is a satellite exhibition of the Biennial of Contemporary Native Art (BACA) 2022.

The theme of the 6th Biennale this year is LAND BACK, referring to the mobilization of indigenous people to regain the stewardship of the lands and ecosystems that once constituted their own territory with the objective of preserving them for future generations.

Renée Condo is inspired by stories from her experiences directly related to the earth and its interactions with people, animals and the environment. These experiences may seem like fanciful fiction to the reader, but they come from her own personal stories.
