JEREMY PELT QUINTET

A most worthy descendent of Lee Morgan and Freddie Hubbard, this ace trumpeter is a well-kept secret—too well-kept. Pelt has been showcasing his incredible talent for a while now, racking up critical praise and breathless mentions in jazz magazines readers’ polls (DownBeat named him a rising trumpet star five years running…). After making quite an impression here playing with the Baptiste Trotignon Quintet in 2009, and with his own group Wired in 2011, he’s back with a quintet to present a brilliant new album, Water and Earth.
