The OSM is pleased to offer you the first webcast concert of the year, free of charge. Discover the conducting gifts of the OSM’s new music director designate beginning this 2021-2022 season, Venezuelan conductor Rafael Payare. Maestro Payare will direct Brahms’ First Symphony, a grave and profound work of powerful creative energy. as well as Berlioz’s Roman Carnival whose playful melody and leaping accents will carry you away!

Internationally renowned conductor Rafael Payare will take on the role of Music Director of the OSM. Mr. Payare will become the 9th Music Director in the history of the Orchestra. The Venezuelan conductor will take up the position of Designated Music Director on September 1st, 2021. Succeeding Kent Nagano, he will assume his full duties beginning with the 2022-2023 season, for a period of at least five years.
