THE BLACK PIRATE with live musicians!
(1926, USA, 88 min., 16mm, English intertitles) Albert Parker
Aaaaaar!!! A motley crew welcomes you aboard their stolen vessel for a high seas adventure in treasure-hunting, damsels in distress, romance, cut throat battles and funny little monkeys. Lead player Douglas Fairbanks was the Depp-Chan-Cruise of the 1920s. His looks, charms and acrobatics could easily fill the epic scale of this classic pirate movie that was to be the model for all exciting pirate movies that followed. One of the first films shot in Technicolor, our print gives you the full vintage experience. Be there or… walk the plank! (With English and French inter-titles)
There’s no better way to view this classic treasure of the silent era than on the big screen in a stunning old gothic church with live musicians on piano, organ, percussion and more. Projecting “reel” film! Snacks and drinks available. Our previous screenings there have been hugely popular so please arrive early whether you buy your tickets in advance or at the door. (General admission. Doors open at 6:30pm)
Snacks, popcorn and drinks available.
