Since the father died a year ago, the Beauregard family has been a mess. The mother is being crushed by her debts but can’t find a job, the younger daughter invents her own dream world, making her an outcast at school, and the teenage daughter seeks comfort in the arms of a much older man. As much a group portrait of three suffering women as a story of everyday resilience, Dérive is the first feature by the team of David Uloth and Chloé Cinq-Mars. A sensitive and poignant work, starring a trio of remarkable actresses: Mélissa Désormeaux-Poulin, Maèva Tremblay and Éléonore Loiselle.
