Born in Iran, Masoud Raouf has lived in Canada since 1988. Educated at Sheridan College in Ontario, he has taught animation at Concordia University. His films: The Trees That I Remember (2002), Blue Like a Gunshot (2003), Waves at Birth (2005).

The story of a mother and a daughter imprisoned in Iran and a commentary on Khomeini’s 1988 Fatwa which sent thousands of political prisoners to their deaths.
Reza Allamehzadeh was born in 1943 in Sari, Iran and studied film in Tehran. He was a political prisoner in 1973-79, but has lived in the Netherlands since 1983 and has taught cinema in Europe and the U.S. Selected filmography: THE TRAP (1973), A Few Simple Sentences (1986), GUESTS OF HOTEL ASTORIA (1988, shown at MWFF), MANUSCRIPTS DON’T BURN (1997) and IRANIAN TABOO (2011).
