THEODORE USHEV: ENCAUSTIC PAINTINGS

The Physics of Sorrow was made with the technique of encaustic painting, which dates back to Antiquity and
which Theodore Ushev has magnificently made his own, inspired by his father, a visual artist himself. For this exhibition, the filmmaker has chosen fifteen paintings from the film allowing a better understanding of his approach,
his skill and his gesture. Based on the addition of colour pigments to beeswax, this technique offers luminous works, with a particular grain and vibrant colours.
