A PLACE OF TIDE AND TIME
Information on the activity
Dates to come
In the remote English-speaking village of Rivière-Saint-Paul, in Quebec’s Basse-Côte-Nord region, majestic landscapes are not enough to stop young people from moving away. Having grown up far from any city, Ethan, Brittney, Whitney and Patrick will soon leave their families behind, travelling thousands of kilometres to go to school and brighten their prospects. With the fishing industry in sharp decline, their elders are struggling to keep their traditional way of life alive. From breathtaking scenery to frank interviews and intimate observations, A Place of Time and Tide contrasts the visions of different generations, leading to a nuanced, unvarnished reflection on happiness and identity in a littleknown part of Quebec.
