WOMEN MAKE FILM: A NEW ROAD MOVIE THROUGH CINEMA - PART 5

Information on the activity

Dates to come

Nearly a decade after the monumental The Story of Film: An Odyssey, Mark Cousins is back with another look at film history and aesthetics. From the opening frames, the voice of narrator and producer Tilda Swinton outlines the project. It isn’t a list of the best filmmakers, but an effort to relearn cinema (techniques, narrative strategies, socio-political relevance, etc.) through the remarkable work of women directors. Until now, this body of work has received little notice in “official” film courses. More than 700 excerpts from films by 183 filmmakers are the raw material for this magnum opus that forces us to reconsider all of film history.
