The teen years: the age of first times, doubts, choices, fears. Emma and Anaïs have been friends since they were little kids, and how they’re going through the pivotal adolescent years together, despite some personal and family differences. What will happen to their friendship as they enter adulthood? Sébastien Lifshitz (Les invisibles, RIDM 2012) follows the two girls from ages 13 to 18. Filming with astonishing closeness, he captures their turmoil as well as their everyday preoccupations: love, parents, the future, the state of the world. The film is also a prism for an examination of French society and its crises, from the 2015 terror attacks to growing socio-cultural inequality.
