ESPERO TUA (RE)VOLTA
Information on the activity
Dates to come
Lucas, Marcela and Nayara have all participated in the mass student demonstrations that have shaken Brazil since 2013. With the help of filmmaker Eliza Capai, they revisit images filmed within the movement from 2013 until the election of Jair Bolsonaro, and take turns speaking. Looking back on some of the demonstrations revives the exhilaration of a stirring rejection of austerity, while footage of the brutal police repression they experienced, and still experience, reminds them of their still-raw wounds. By featuring three voices that express the same desire for change while also noting their differences, the filmmaker makes a self-aware activist film, and a true call to revolt.
