LE VOYAGE DU COLIBRI

Over time, painter Marie Roberge has developed a neo-Surrealist pictorial art that questions reality and its representation. At times, this personal search has taken the form of a powerful spiritual symbolism (pyramids, fish, snakes, children, masks and female characters). At others, it drew from the strangeness of travelling to distant lands (Australia, Brazil, Brittany and Mexico). Finally, this quest has been nurtured by the recognition of renowned artists and professionals, including Jean Paul Riopelle, Alfred Pellan, Claude Yvel and Marc Havel, whom she has met along the way.

With Allusions or illusions? The Hummingbird’s Journey, Marie Roberge once again questions our world, this time calling on the complicity of the hummingbird, an amazing creature capable of breaking through the wall that separates the various dimensions.The artist invites you to meet her universe from March 9 to April 6, 2020 at the Centre de créativité du Gesù.
