ORCHESTRE MÉTROPOLITAIN - FIRE AND WATER: GÉNIAL!

Information on the activity

Dates to come

You find a long feather, bright as fire, in the middle of the forest. Where did it come from? Why did it fall? What enchanting animal will you meet? Russians view The Firebird as both benevolent and destructive, comforting and disturbing, much like fire itself. The orchestral suite based on Stravinsky’s ballet captures the character’s ambiguity with dazzlingly acrobatic music. But before you can tame the fire, you have to face the music and get a little wet! Embark on the changing waters of Smetana’s Vltava, then ride the ocean swells with Ravel’s Une Barque sur l’océan.
SMETANA: Vltava
RAVEL: Une Barque sur l’océan
DEBUSSY: Nocturnes, III. Sirènes
STRAVINSKY: The Firebird, suite (1919)
