Finding themselves every week in a studio as the house band for the weekly TV show "En direct de l'Univers", these four accomplished musicians have decided to try something different and fun by creating a quartet that could offer a repertoire of jazz tunes made up of original compositions and covers of popular tunes re-arranged by the group.
The covers include songs by Coldplay, Paul Simon, Michael Jackson, Neil Young, Lou Reed, and The Beatles. A nod to the album "New Standards" by Herbie Hancock. Paul Brochu, drums, ex-member of Uzeb, has worked with Michel Legrand and Gino Vannelli among others. Jean-Francois Groulx, piano, has had his own jazz trio for many years and has recorded seven albums under his own name.
Jean-Benoit Lasanté, guitar, has toured with Garou, been music director for Gregory Charles, and is currently music director for "En direct de l'Univers". Peter Kisilenko, bass, has 45 years of experience doing tours, recording, and TV shows. He has accompanied Sammy Davis Jr. ,Ranee Lee and Michel Legrand among others.
