CLOSING NIGHT OF L’OFF JAZZ

Samuel Blais invites Dan Weiss, John Hollenbeck and Ben Monder

Here’s a beautiful risk worth taking: bringing together seasoned musicians for a never-before-seen evening. Samuel Blais has already played with several jazz legends (David Liebman, Jim Black, Larry Grenadier, Nate Smith, Donny McCaslin, Ari Hoenig, Terri Lyne Carrington). It therefore came naturally to ask him to create a custom-made evening based on collaboration. This closing night promises to be an explosive one, since the saxophonist Samuel Blais will be inviting the drummers Dan Weiss and John Hollenbeck on stage, as well as the internationally-renowned guitarist Ben Monder (who has played on David Bowie’s last album Blackstar). The music will be a two-part suite composed by Samuel Blais. The musicians will play each other’s compositions.

Admission: $30 at the door or $25 in advance: regular / $20: discount (students, 65+, and Quebec Musicians’ Guild Members).
