SALSA DURA NIGHT

Escape for an evening to the contagious sounds of salsa dura! This melodic and swinging subgenre of salsa that grew out of NYC night clubs during the 70s —also called salsa brava or salsa gorda—is music made for dancing!

The twelve musicians of Montreal’s Lengaïa Salsa Brava orchestra have been celebrating New York and Puerto Rican salsa with arrangements of Latin standards and original compositions since 2012. Crowned Salsa Band of the Year at the Canada Latin Awards in 2017, Lengaïa has played with internationally renowned artists such as Yoko Mimata, Ismaël Rivera Jr. and salsa icon Ismael Miranda of the legendary Fania All-Stars. In February 2018, the orchestra put out Impacto, a first album composed entirely of original pieces that received praise across borders.
