MIDI AFFAIRES RETAIL IN THE AMAZON ERA

Information on the activity

Dates to come

As part of the Fashion & Design Festival, the Conseil Québécois du Commerce de Détail (CQCD) and the Cercle Omer DeSerre, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Montreal Metropolitan, invite you to a conference themed Retail in the Amazon Era. Hosted by marketing expert Jacques Nantel, Professor Emeritus at HEC Montreal, the conference Midi Affaires will focus on e-commerce and the consequences of new shopping techniques for traditional retail. While we did not believe in the power of e-commerce a few years ago, today, more than 10% of clothing purchases by Canadians are made online. Amazon alone controls more than a quarter of online shopping in Canada, and 50% in the United States. With the recent woes of many retailers such as Sears, what is left of traditional retail and for whom? Our three panelists François Roberge, CEO of La Vie en Rose, Guy Charron, Executive Vice-President, Retail Operations at Cominar, and Alexandre Taillefer, Senior Partner at XPND Capital, will address this issue.
