Barber’s Adagio for strings and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue are among the most popular works in the American classical music repertoire. Quebec pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin is back with the OSM to perform the latter powerful, jazz-and-pop-inspired work. Composed during the same period, Shostakovich’s ballet The Golden Age tells the story of a Soviet sports team as it embarks on its first tour to the West. Culture Shock!
