Born in Montreal to Haitian parents, Jowee Omicil is a multi-instrumental reedman whose musical philosophy embraces cross-breeding: jazz is the idiom, with Caribbean, African, Latin and gospel accents. Arranger, composer and producer signed to Blue Note France, he has collaborated with such notables as Pharoah Sanders, Brandford Marsalis and Kenny Garrett, and his performances are reliably electrifying!
