Information on the activity

Dates to come

This concert presents a unique performance for narrator, actors and dancers with video support, accompanied by an instrumental septet consisting of five live instrumentalists, and two (double bass and percussion) in a prerecorded projection. Added to this is an animated film produced by the Fondation Igor Stravinsky (Geneva.)
Igor Stravinsky recounted: "The idea for L’histoire du soldat (The Soldier’s Tale) came to me to me during the spring of 1917. From the outset of the war I often intended to compose a theatrical work with a simple, easily understood plot for a travelling theatre (…) which could, according to the number of performers, tour Swiss villages. Despite the neutrality of the work, it was implied that our soldier was the victim of the world conflict of the period. The L’histoire du soldat (The Soldier’s Tale) is my sole work with a contemporary allusion.”
