In this 3rd evening of his Invitation series run, trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire “crosses swords” with pianist Tigran Hamasyan, discovered during a remarkable solo performance at the Festival in 2010 and a favourite ever since. These two young talents are renowned for their impressive improvisational sensibilities and insane virtuosity, and deliver a dazzling and daring jazz, defying all known labels. The future of jazz? A page of it will certainly be written tonight.
