From Vine to Wine: The Art of Wine in the City

Participate in an immersive wine workshop presented by the Quartier des Spectacles and AU/LAB in collaboration with Vignes en ville. Through urban grape cultivation and the art of winemaking, explore the traditions and innovations of northern wine. 

This workshop covers the fundamentals of urban grape cultivation and winemaking. Discover pressing, alcoholic fermentation, and malolactic fermentation through an accessible presentation led by Véronique Lemieux. 

The experience culminates with the art of blending: create your own wine blend, taste it, and present it to the group. You'll also discover four unique northern wine profiles, with a focus on the particularities of wine in a northern context. 

Ingredients and materials are prepared in advance to foster a participatory, accessible experience that encourages dialogue around this fascinating world. 

Facilitator: Véronique Lemieux 

Vignes en ville – Urban winemaker since 2017, Véronique drives this project to greenify the city by exploring new approaches to glass revaluation. She holds a bachelor's degree in international business (Concordia University), a certificate in permaculture (Oregon State University), and training in winemaking (Cornell University). Since 2021, she has cultivated a small experimental plot at Vignoble de la Bauge in the Eastern Townships. In 2025, one of her blends received recognition as one of Canada's top 50 wines. 

The activity is free, but spots are limited to 20 participants. Registration is required.
