Urban Fragments is a three-part video projection that begins with a minimalist 2D collage in primary colors of a Rubik’s Cube manipulated by virtual hands, before transitioning to a tritone sequence of moving silhouettes. The work culminates in the heart of a Montreal residential street, where a 3D Rubik’s Cube rotates in a loop to reveal the city’s iconic landmarks.
