THE PRIX RECONNAISSANCE: CELEBRATING ARTISTS AND CULTURAL PROFESSIONALS
Each year, the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership honors artists, artisans, and professionals whose work has significantly shaped the Quartier’s cultural landscape through its Prix reconnaissance. This tribute takes the form of an architectural video projection, the Quartier’s signature artistic medium, honoring outstanding figures across three categories: artists, cultural professionals, and historical figures.
A call for nominations is issued to the Partnership’s members, and a jury selects the recipients based on their contribution to the Quartier des spectacles, the quality of their work, and the impact of their achievements.

2025, five people honored
Five personalities who have left their mark on the Quartier des Spectacles— the 7 Fingers, Geneviève Cadieux, Laurent Saulnier, Joseph Nakhlé, and Antonia Nantel—are honored in an original video projection, Traces d’audace : cinq portraits hommage, created by multidisciplinary artist Elizabeth Laferrière.

2024, seven people honored
Seven inspiring figures — Sylvain Émard, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Madeleine Careau, Jean-Claude Chabot, Pierre Des Marais, Ludmilla Chiriaeff, and Jean Duceppe — are honored in a unique video projection, Mouvements d’audace : sept portraits hommage, created by Montreal-based digital artist Bar Rubinstein.

2023, first recognition prize
The inaugural Prix reconnaissance of the Quartier des spectacles was held in 2023 to celebrate the Quartier’s 20th anniversary. Multidisciplinary artist Elizabeth Laferrière produced the video projection 20 ans d’audace et de culture, showcasing 20 portraits that feature 25 outstanding figures, with a special tribute to Yvon Deschamps in recognition of his entire career.
