The Quartier des Spectacles Partnership announces the appointment of Lilian Guiran as guest curator of LUMINO for the winter of 2026-2027. He will contribute to the selection of artworks, bringing his own artistic vision to the process.

Active in the digital arts scene for over ten years, Lilian Guiran develops a practice that explores our vulnerabilities and the transformations brought about by technology. His approach reminds us that we co-create the works we encounter, shaped as much by our impulses as by our limitations. As a curator, he seeks to reveal the sensory dimension of digital arts, where poetry and technique coexist freely.

In 2018, he co-founded Isotone, a studio specializing in the production of immersive and interactive works and performances. He collaborates with Martin Messier across 14 venues, and with Stéphane Guiran on several projects combining digital and contemporary arts. Today, he moves between curatorial work, artistic direction and technical direction for various organizations, with expertise in museum diffusion.

His appointment follows a widely acclaimed 16th edition, which brought together some forty artists and studios from here and abroad, presenting 35 works across fifteen venues in the Quartier des spectacles and downtown Montréal — including 23 by Québec artists and 19 original creations.

Initiated and produced by the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership, LUMINO offers an original, captivating and participatory winter experience from November to March. Born under the name Luminothérapie more than 16 years ago, the event took on new momentum in 2024 under its current name, expanding its programming both indoors and outdoors across the Quartier des spectacles and downtown Montréal. Now a staple of the Montréal winter, LUMINO showcases local creativity on the international stage, with several works distributed worldwide by Quartier des Spectacles International.
