10 Ways to Ring in the New Year in the Quartier des Spectacles
Montreal, December 11, 2025 — The Quartier des Spectacles invites the public to ring in 2026 with exciting, festive and creative nightlife, both indoors and out—immersive raves, musical tributes, disco nights, concerts, skating, luminous works and a host of activities. On December 31, Montreal’s cultural heart will light up to welcome the New Year with a memorable night of dazzling festivities for every taste!
From 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Montreal nightlife institutions like the Society for Arts and Technology [SAT] and Vino Disco welcome night owls, while St. Catherine St. West and the Esplanade Tranquille rink offer special extended hours until 1 a.m. For many years, the Quartier has been famous for its evening entertainment. Its late-night cultural activities and all-night parties enhance the district’s nighttime identity, making it a unique destination from sunset to the wee hours, in its public spaces and nightlife hotspots alike.
Dance All Night with the Party Pros
SAT NYE 2025, an immersive rave at the Society for Arts and Technology [SAT]
From 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the SAT hosts a spectacular party to ring in 2026—two floors, 12 artists and an electrifying program. At Espace SAT, machìna (experimental electro), Ploy (UK bass, garage, tech-house), Rose Kourts (underground house), and DJs Evita and kiju create a thrilling ambiance. In the Satosphère, immersive 360° visuals by Mostly Noise and Aphex Redditor accompany sets by Sard (techno, groove, downtempo funk), Maara (dance, energetic trance), Hiroki (psychedelic techno dub), anabasine and breakcheck (house, techno, groove).
New Year’s at Vino Disco with Groovy Castle
Vino Disco is staying open until 6 a.m., with a retro 90s-undergound vibe. DJ JP Groove (Groovy Castle) hosts a nine-hour musical experience, featuring everything from timeless classics to a cornucopia of amazing deep cuts.
Get in the Groove in the Quartier’s Music Venues
Le Réveillon de L’Expédition : Hommage aux Cowboys Fringants at Club Soda
Starting at 8 p.m., Club Soda presents a festive night with L’Expédition, a Cowboys Fringants tribute band. Come and sing along to the legendary group’s beloved classics—En berne, Les étoiles filantes, Toune d’automne, Tant qu’on aura de l’amour and more—and be part of a truly memorable New Year’s countdown.
New Year’s Eve party – L’ultime soirée disco chic at Le Balcon
Starting at 10 p.m., everyone is invited to get down with the biggest disco hits. Whether you’re a dancing queen or an absolute beginner, get ready for a fantastic party!
Garou solo, Cinquième salle, Place des Arts
Garou presents an intimate show starting at 8 p.m., focused on his album Un meilleur lendemain. With his piano and guitar, the artist stages a show with cinematic and theatrical touches, revisiting an eclectic personal journey.
Festive nights at Bistro à Jojo and Pub L’Île Noire in the Quartier Latin
The Quartier Latin is another New Year’s hotspot, with parties including the Party du jour de l’An Rocky & Friends with Marc Déry at Bistro à Jojo at 10:30 p.m., and the Party du nouvel an 2026 at Pub L’Île Noire starting at 10 p.m. The many bars of Saint-Denis St. are also great places to hang with friends.
A Warm and Luminous New Year’s in the Quartier
At midnight, a special countdown by artist Jeremy Fassio will be projected on the façades of Édifice WILDER | Espace danse, the Grande Bibliothèque, UQAM’s Pavillon Président-Kennedy and the projection surface outside Saint-Laurent metro station to mark the arrival of 2026.
On Esplanade Tranquille, Patins Platines presents a special New Year’s edition from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Montreal’s Bonne Famille organization brings together local DJs and other artists to celebrate the values of sharing and mutual aid that define our city. Café Tranquille is also staying open late, giving the public access to a warm space and delicious snacks.
Lastly, the Great Montreal Christmas Market has special extended hours, until 1 a.m. The full program is still to be announced, but two highlights are confirmed: DJ Daven Ray and his guests get the party started, followed by the RSVP collective to ring in the New Year.
LUMINO, the free winter experience comprising participatory and luminous installations, also has extended hours for the occasion, running until 1 a.m. to create an enchanting ambiance for everyone spending the evening downtown.
