Théâtre du Nouveau Monde (TNM)
Founded in 1951 and located in the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles, the Théâtre du Nouveau-Monde (TNM) produces and presents major works from the international and Canadian repertoires. Under the impetus of its director Lorraine Pintal, who took up her post in autumn 1992, the TNM has focused more and more on creation in recent years. Directed since 2024 by Geoffrey Gaquère, it continues to offer audiences a privileged relationship with the foremost creators—directors, designers, performers—driven by their contemporary vision of incredibly diverse theatrical realms. In addition to presenting classics from antiquity to the 21st century, the great works of Quebec are the subject of re-readings grounded in today’s realities. The TNM’s recent history is characterized by a return to a more modern approach to theater and a flair for the festive that resonates with a very wide audience.
