Founded in 2016 by Vanessa Rigaux and Kendall Savage, the Montreal Clown Festival showcases original works rooted in the worlds of clown, bouffon and physical theatre. Its mission is to spotlight local, national and international clown artists while fostering connections between Montreal and clown communities around the globe. Offering audiences a chance to experience the ancient and subversive tradition of clowning, the festival also creates opportunities for emerging and established artists to meet, experiment, perform and exchange ideas. Its diverse program spans a range of performance styles, including physical theatre, circus, bouffon, drag and cabaret.
