Founded in 2016 by artist Thien Vu Dang, MAPP_MTL is a non-profit organization that promotes the development of architectural projection—also known as projection or video mapping—and aims to showcase local and international talent. Each year, it runs a festival of the same name, using this multimedia technology to transform Montreal’s public spaces into a playground for creative expression. MAPP_MTL also organizes year-round events and workshops, actively promoting this emerging practice and opening up an inclusive dialogue between artists and citizens. It thus asserts itself as a new leader in digital creativity, both locally and internationally.
