Les Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal (RIDM)

Organizer

One of the most important documentary film festivals in North America, the Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) presents some 100 Canadian and international documentaries each year. The event also hosts the RIDM Forum, a documentary market unique in Quebec. Originally conceived as a filmmakers’ festival, the RIDM also works to bring creators and audiences together. For 12 days, master classes, round tables and thematic discussions are organized for the general public and industry professionals. With its selection of works dealing with hot-button issues of the day and bold proposals renewing the language of cinema, the RIDM encourages us to reconsider our relationship with the world and with documentary as an art form.
