FTA - Festival TransAmériques
The Festival TransAmériques (FTA) is an international performing arts festival dedicated to dance and theatre in their most contemporary expressions. Since it was founded in 1985, the FTA has supported the development and circulation of new works, ever in search of bold and singular creations. The FTA seeks to strengthen artistic communities, with which it stands in solidarity, by offering spaces for sharing and emulation. Attracting more than 35,000 spectators each spring, this major celebration of the living arts, which bears witness to the traditions, acting schools and artistic currents animating the world’s stages, attracts the topnotch contemporary masters. In 2013, FTA was awarded the Grand Prix by the Conseil des arts de Montréal for its invaluable contribution to the cultural wealth of the metropolis.
