Fierté Montréal

Fierté Montréal’s primary mission is to support and promote the sexually and gender-diverse communities living here, while serving as a beacon of hope for communities facing injustice around the world. The organization initiated the eponymous festival, an annual celebration of sexual and gender diversity in Montreal. The largest event of its kind in Canada, the Fierté Montréal Festival is usually held in mid-August over a period of 11 days, and features a variety of free shows and panels, in addition to its traditional parade. Since it was founded in 2007 on the initiative of Montreal’s gender and sexual diversity communities, the festival has become the largest pride gathering in the French-speaking world. Over 3 million people attend every year, drawing crowds from near and far.
