Quartiers Danses is a festival dedicated to the democratization of contemporary dance in all its forms and takes place in several venues across Montreal. Since it was founded in 2011, the Quartiers Danses Festival has presented works that reflect the power, identity and spirit of Montreal dance creation on nearly 85 stages and sites across the city. It also attracts troupes from across the country and abroad. Its multidisciplinary approach includes performances, installations, films, exhibitions, gatherings, round tables, and cultural mediation workshops. Over the years, the Quartiers Danses Festival has established major cultural partnerships with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Salle Bourgie, the McCord Stewart Museum, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, Place des Arts, the Arrondissement du Sud-Ouest, and more than a dozen Montreal-based dance studios and companies.
