The Centre de design of the Université du Québec à Montréal is one of the few venues in Canada to present exhibitions on the history and recent developments of graphic, industrial and urban design, as well as architecture and fashion. Founded in 1981 at the initiative of professors at UQAM’s École de design, the Centre and its exhibitions are aimed at design professionals, students and the general public alike. For over 40 years, it has contributed to the development of a design culture and to enhancing its local and international profile. Located in downtown Montreal, in the heart of the Quartier Latin and the Quartier des Spectacles, it welcomes visitors free of charge to its 400 square meters of exhibition space, offers conferences, and organizes special events from September to June.
